About Tricia Grant
Tricia is a registered social worker psychotherapist providing mind-body support through movement, individual and couples psychotherapy to those who want to make significant changes in their life.
Tricia believes that therapy is a supportive environment where we can unpack and identify what has been delaying us from pursuing change and ultimately taking the steps toward our aspirations. Working from an anti-oppressive, client-centered, non-judgmental, goal-oriented and trauma-informed approach, she collaboratively finds authentic therapeutic interventions to support healing and equip you to navigate life challenges and choices.
Her experiences working as a Child and Youth Counsellor began in 2003, working in the non-profit sector. Tricia graduated in 2021, with a Master's Degree in Social Work and has practiced as a registered social worker and psychotherapist in Ontario ever since. She is a passionate psychotherapist determined to support individuals to improve their quality of life.
As a psychotherapist, Tricia provides a space where you can voice your feelings and receive the positive motivation required to grow mentally and set goals and the ability to approach change that will determine your next steps. She has devoted her private practice to supporting racialized people, students and individuals living with invisible disabilities.
Tricia is passionate about helping individuals no matter what label they live with or the social class they identify with - applying an anti-oppressive framework to enhance one’s self-worth and quality of life. It is important for her to advocate for social justice, develop collaborative plans, promote equity and support individuals that are experiencing conflict within the criminal justice system - within the education system or face systemic barriers due to colonial practices. Together we can determine the right therapeutic approaches to achieve your goals and guide you in the direction of your choice.
It is her goal to assist you along this journey of self-discovery and foster self-empowerment. As a service user and a person that lives with invisible intellectual disabilities, she uses her insider knowledge and lived experience to inform her practice approach. She utilizes cognitive-behavioural-based intervention principles, by incorporating various modalities such as Narrative Therapy, Positive Psychology, Solution-Focused Therapy, Task Focus Therapy, System Therapy and Mindfulness Movement Meditation. It is essential for us to develop rapport, a sense of connection to foster a space where you feel comfortable sharing.
Currently, Tricia works within the social service sector, offering counselling support to individuals impacted by systemic mental health barriers and difficulties navigating within an ableist society. Outside of her career, she enjoys physical activity, dancing, cycling, swimming, yoga, traveling and spending time with friends and family.
Let’s center your voice and create a feeling of empowerment and autonomy.

Working and Supporting People Have Taught Tricia:
When our voices are centered that’s when we create changes in our life
We are all resilient
Given the time and space to process our thoughts and feelings that’s when changes to be made occur
Everyone can live a better quality of life, once we accept ourselves
Our wellbeing is built through our lifestyle
Surrounding yourself with a supportive team is key
Change begins within you; we can make changes in our journey at anytime
Our story proves how strong we are
When we are validated and heard we feel acknowledged
And being vulnerable improves self-acceptance
Social comparison is the thief of joy and happiness
